In 2017-18, while finishing this album, my external hard drive malfunctioned and became unreadable. Even though I was quite sure that I had made backup copies, I could not find them on any other device or drive. I was quite dismayed and angry with myself.

In April, 2022 while searching for a file on my old (white) Apple laptop, I found a folder that I had overlooked. It was not labeled properly or even saved on my usual backup drive. It was my lost album "homestead".

I've left the album as it was, only slightly adjusting track volumes. A few of the compositions (or variations) that I had backup files of, appear on other recordings.
